Visiting ARRL Headquarters

My family was in New York for a wedding and we had a chance to visit ARRL Headquarters in Newington, CT to see W1AW! We got a tour of the building and saw the testing lab and all the departments.

Joe Garcia, the station manager at W1AW, set me up on one of their operating stations. It was a little overwhelming having all that power and antenna at my fingertips. I managed to squeak out a contact or two before we hit the road for lunch.
